This Lisdoonvarna family-run hotel, managed and run by Martina and John, has been in John’s family for some 300 years. The time-honoured institution prides itself on its restaurant and cooking, which John heads up. Having worked in Michelin starred restaurants previously and indeed gaining Sheedy’s restaurant its own awards and appraisal. Locally sourced ingredients are used here with many of the herbs and vegetables coming from the Kitchen Garden, while the breads and desserts are home-baked at the restaurant. Alternatively, try the homely and informal bar that Sheedy’s also offers to its guests.
Sheedy’s is an ideal base for walkers and hikers, with a location near to Burren Way and only a 5 kilometre drive to Doolin and the boats for the Aran Islands. Traditional Irish hospitality will greet guests here with charmingly elegant rooms, all of which come with well-equipped bathrooms consisting of a bath, power shower and lovely luxury toiletries.
