Tubridy's Bar & Restaurant
Countyclare
Traditional
This bar and restaurant in the centre of the dainty village of Doonbeg on the west coast of Ireland draws visitors in from afar to indulge in their exceptional food and drinks, that are served at reasonable prices. The cuisine is a reflection of the quality produce that is sourced locally from the land and the waters that surround Doonbeg, with a menu which portrays traditional Irish food and beverages. The recently refurbished Tap Room Restaurant has a homely ambiance to mimic their comfort food, such as homemade fish pie and the rack of lamb. On the dessert menu a selection of warming classical treats are available including apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding.
The bar area is one of the oldest in Ireland dating back to 1777 and has maintained many of its traditional values. The Guinness here is considered to be particularly exceptional and poured to perfection every time. The clientele is an inviting combination of tourists and the locals who have a tendency to be very sociable, especially after a few pints. Every Wednesday there is live music, and special events throughout the year are staged at Tubridy’s including the Doonbeg jazz festival. Tubridy’s comprises of much more than just a restaurant and bar but also offers accommodation, a caravan park, and even an astro turf football pitch which can be hired out for €50 p/h.
