Founded in 1966, the Shannon Golf Club is an accomplished and popular golf course. Designed by John D Harris as a major championship course it is now used by members and visitors alike and is one of the leading courses in Munster and Ireland.
The course itself boasts beautiful scenery. There are long meadow fairways with Evergreens, Spruces and other deciduous trees lining the way. The course has a mixture of sand-based or traditional greens that’ll keep you on your toes throughout. There are water hazards and sand bunkers to add a little more of a challenge and even a shot over the Shannon Estuary itself.
The Shannon Golf Club is equipped with a clubhouse where you can find separate ladies and men’s lockers and dressing rooms, toilet facilities, two fully- licensed bars, a board room and a restaurant that can cater for up to 150 people. There is also a Pro-Shop where professional golfer Artie Pyke sells his prestigious golfing equipment including clothing, clubs, shoes and bags.
