Cassidy's Pub & Restaurant
Countyclare
Pubs and Bars
Cassidy’s is a traditional Irish pub that is in the core of the isolated Burren region, and is definitely off the beaten path and offers a real cultural experience in nightlife and cuisine. The Cassidy family has run their pub business in Carron since 1830; full of character and history this building had a previous purpose as the Royal Irish Constabulary Barracks before it was reformed into a pub and restaurant. The family owns a farm that rears cows, sheep, and goats that feature on the menu. Performance horses are also raised on the farm and then sold to the general public; so be careful not to impulse buy after one too many Guinness’s.
Live Irish music is a dominant feature at Cassidy’s every weekend, but unexpected sessions are likely to occur without any advanced warning. Their choice of dishes is considerably extensive; on the everyday menu a combination of ingredients from the land and ocean are implemented into classic dishes such as chunky steaks and organic vegetables. Every Saturday the cuisine changes nationality to Italian night; 4 courses of globally known Italian dishes are available at a reasonable €20. Other weekly events include fish night that is sourced fresh from the Atlantic Ocean. Their desserts comprise of fruit scones, cakes, and ice creams; and there is separate menu for children, making Cassidy’s an ideal pub to bring the family.
Opening times: Monday - Saturday 12:00 PM - 09:00 PM; Sunday's 12:00 PM - 08:00 PM
