Gallagher's Bunratty
Countyclare
Gallagher’s of Bunratty is a prestigious seafood restaurant in the heart of the historical gem, Bunratty village. The restaurant is situated in an old thatched cottage complete with timber beams and other rustic features. This gives it the feel of a cosy pub, but this is most certainly not pub grub.
Not only is the location desirable but also the food has been awarded the coveted ‘Best Restaurant’ prize by the Restaurant Association of Ireland. This does not mean that the atmosphere is stifled and formal, it is still friendly and relaxed so welcome to all diners. Gallagher’s is most highly rated for its impeccable service, which means that diners are guaranteed an overall package rather than simply good food. This is perfect for a romantic meal or an occasion with family and friends.
The a la carte evening menu includes dishes such as the Thai crab cakes and bruschetta with red peppers and sundried tomatoes. Follow this up with the grilled monkfish and tiger prawns. Whilst the choices are predominantly seafood there are alternatives if diners are not fond of the sea crop. The best example is the roast chicken breast with black pudding potato gratin, baked butternut squash and thyme jus.
