Run by the Gill family, Monks Bar offers up a wide selection of dishes and drinks to suit all needs. Specialising in seafood and known specifically for their seafood chowder, the bar uses the freshest food from local sources, including local Irish beef. Nestled in the Burren on the quiet harbour of Ballyvaughan, the bar overlooks the Gallway bay from the shores of North Clare. Teamed with a warm and welcoming smile, the large airy pub is an ideal place to relax and enjoy some typical Irish cuisine, with its rustic charm and open fires. Lights snacks are available as well as a full dinner menu and a board full of homemade desserts.
Musical sessions are regularly run at Monks Bar, providing a mix of traditional and more contemporary music. B&B accommodation is also available at the pub and private parties can be catered for upon request.
