Morrisseys Seafood Bar and Grill
Countyclare
Morrisseys’ is a Seafood Bar and Grill in Doonbeg. It is owned by Hugh McNally and is a family run business having been handed down to its fourth generation to date. It was a simple local pub but has been successfully transformed into a stylish restaurant that draws crowds from all over the county.
The bar is the focal point of the restaurant with dining areas on either side. Outside there is a decking area with a view over the Doonbeg River, which can also be seen from inside the dining room. There is also another room for private bookings and intimate gatherings, which provides a great atmosphere for special occasions. The dark wood décor and large burgundy leather seats gives the restaurant an old rustic charm. Uniquely the restaurant also has artwork on display from a collection of local craftsman, which changes regularly. This is casual dining but with great food.
They serve a wide variety of favourites, and all their breads and desserts are homemade. A particularly good dish is the wild Doonbeg crab claws with garlic and herb butter and hand crafted artisan bread.
If you don’t fancy leaving Morrissey’s after your meal they also offer six rooms for accommodation with king sized beds and full WIFI access. The restaurant was also in the Bridgestone Guide for 100 best in 2009.
