Situated in the centre of the isolated fishing village of Kilbaha at the tip of the Loophead Peninsula and overlooking the River Shannon is where the Lighthouse Inn is beautifully located. This family run bed and breakfast inclusive of their exceptional seafood restaurant is the perfect retreat to explore the Irish coast that boasts some of the tallest cliffs in Europe. The service as expected from a B & B is very personal and the family ensure they learn all their guests’ names and cater for all of your requirements. Staying here or simply visiting to enjoy a beverage or a meal represents an insight into a typical Irish lifestyle of good company, food, and a slow paced ambiance. The accommodation comprises of 11 en suite guest rooms and includes breakfast which is available at an affordable rate; 3 nights B & B and an evening meal is priced at €99.
If you visit for breakfast the fry up is the highlight of the menu and is considerably substantial comprising of Irish bacon, black pudding, fresh eggs, and soda bread. For lunch and dinner the seafood is a great choice and is locally sourced such as their fresh Atlantic cod. The interior resembles a traditional Irish pub and has a separate sports room inclusive of a pool table. Most nights of the week there is live music from local musicians showcasing their skills, and frequently lasts until the early hours of the morning. Excursions that depart a few metres away from Kilbaha pier including dolphin and fishing trips can be arranged from The Lighthouse Inn.
