Doonbeg Golf Club
'I thought this would be the last chance in my life to get a site like this to build on: the sand dunes, the water, the beach, the wind blowing at 40 knots.'
Doonbeg Golf Course officially opened in 2002, and was immediately designated as Golf Digest’s “Best New International Course.” Enjoying a breathtaking location matched with distinctive services and facilities, the unique luxury accommodation and close proximity to Shannon Airport make Doonbeg's 5 star golf resort in one of the world’s most desirable.
Maybe the last true links course to be built in either Ireland or England, Doonbeg golf course in Clare is ideally situated between two of Ireland’s other top ranked courses, Ballybunion and Lahinch, making it one of the best golf breaks in Ireland.
The unique practice facility at Doonbeg includes:
• Driving Range
• Putting Green
• Pitching Area
• 2 Bunkers
There are 20 bases at the driving range and it is a free facility to all golfers in residence.
The Doonbeg golf professional are happy to help and advice you whatever level you are playing at. Private or Group lessons are available throughout the year and in addition kids of all ages are welcome to join the year long junior club, for lessons and fun.
Doonbeg runs a professional Caddy Program and train all Caddies to an International Standard. Due to the number of 'Blind Shots' and the general difficulty of the elements and course it is recommended that you use a Caddy for your round.
