Ranking in the World Top 50 Golf Course list, the Lahinch Golf Club is a course not to be missed. Designed by Old Tom Morris and again by Alister MacKenzie in the 1920s, the course is an impressive links. Modernised in 2003 by Martin Hawtree, Lahinch attracts a loyal crowd, raking it in Europe’s Top 20 courses.
The course was built to make use of the natural terrain, giving it stunning rolling hills, giant sand dunes and a fresh sea breeze that’ll be sure to challenge your par. There is even the odd wild goat roaming free, so but sure to watch your swing!
With two courses to choose from (the old course and the castle course), Lahinch Golf Club is suitable for any level of expertise. There are spectacular views of Ireland’s vast and wild countryside as well as the quaint town. The castle course also winds its way through the historic site of the Dough Caste (1306). The course also has its own restaurant on site, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a refreshing tea or coffee break.
