This family run pub holds more than meets the eye, with a warm welcome and a full complex to keep guests entertained. Established in 1972, Shannon Knights Bar has set itself a good reputation amongst locals and tourists alike. The unique venue comprises of the Terrace Bar, Rineanna Bar, Zest Bistro, Evolution Nightclub and Knights Off-licence. With a central location, ‘The Knights’ (as it’s known to locals) is just 3km away from Shannon Airport and 6km from Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
The Terrace Bar offers a traditional feel, being the oldest part of the complex. The ‘old world-style pub’ is ideal for a casual drink and quick bite to eat, whilst live bands regularly play here at weekends. The clientele age ranges from 18-88, making it truly suitable for all ages and tastes. Sports are regularly shown on the television and a ‘snug’ area can also be found.
The Rineanna Bar is a more contemporary bar, offering a range of entertainment throughout the week. It is a good location for morning coffees, lunches and casual drinks. Live music and sports via the television are also available within this bar and also supply dedicated racing channels.
The new Zest Bistro has a relaxed ambience for casual dining. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Zest Bistro offers a range of food for all budgets with food locally produced where possible.
The complex’s Evolution Nightclub has two separate areas flaunting the latest technology in sound and light. It is a state of the art venue, with one of the country’s largest LED screens.
