O'Briensbridge

The village is located on the eastern verge of County Clare on the banks of the River Shannon and borders counties Clare, Limerick and Tipperary. Like Killaloe, it has a 'twin' town in a neighbouring county across the Shannon - for O'Briensbridge it is Montpelier in County Limerick.

There are three beautiful looped walks from O'Briensbridge - two of which have Failte Ireland Looped Walk Initiative approval and form part of the Lough Derg National Waymarked Way.  The start-point can be found in the Riverside Park Woodland, riverside stretches and grassland are some of the elements to expect on the pathways.

The Errinagh Canal, originally used by boats and barges heading to Limerick City, is being redeveloped and is an ideal recreational facility - walking enthusiasts can stroll along its banks as part of the looped walks and you can fish there. The River Shannon here is also particularly loved by rowers. Fishing is very popular and boat hire is available in the village. There are excellent places to eat and relax.
