Flappers
Countyclare
Flappers Restaurant is a small and cosy eatery located in the village of Tulla. It is split across two floors with modest decoration and a clean modern feel. The tables are not squashed into the limited space, with places for up to 40 guests, the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. The restaurant has a slightly more luxurious feel for evening dining. Owner Patricia McInerney is also responsible for the cooking as she holds the position of Head Chef. There is also a take away facility, which is perfect for self-catering tourists.
The food has been served for years and remains consistently popular among locals and visitors alike. The lunchtime menu is all about hearty meals that are strong on flavour and in large portions, so they are good value for money. It has a feeling of home cooked food in which Patricia takes great care. The a la carte menu for dinner is slightly more up market and includes more interesting dishes. The roasted rack of lamb with a mint sauce and scallion mash is definitely worth a visit as the mash will not be found elsewhere. There is also a provision of vegetarian dishes, which also feature tasty ingredients and the pride of the chef.
