Indian Restaurants in County Clare

Indian food in County Clare might surprise you. Ennis, the main hub, has a few places where the spice hits just right without overwhelming you. For instance, Zaika Indian Restaurant near the town center has a simple menu, but their butter chicken and garlic naan always come out fresh and satisfying. And if you’re craving something less common, try their lamb rogan josh , it’s slow-cooked and worth the wait.

Out in some smaller villages, you might spot takeaways that don’t claim to be fancy but serve up genuinely tasty samosas and biryanis, perfect if you want to eat in your rental or grab something casual after a day on the Cliffs of Moher. Winter evenings especially call for a hot bowl of dal makhani from these places, believe me.

Also, keep in mind that many Indian spots in the county dial down the chili, so if you’re a heat seeker, just ask for extra spice or a hot chutney. The locals are usually happy to sort you out, no fuss. And yes, some pubs even have Indian-themed nights , it’s worth asking around, especially in Ennis’s lively community circles.
