Murphy Blacks Restaurant
Countyclare
Murphy Blacks Restaurant was established in 2005 on the West Coast of Clare by Cillian Murphy and Mary Redmond, after the great success of their bar on the same site. The restaurant is set inside a large Victorian home and the rustic period charm has been retained, whilst creating a modern atmosphere. There is an outside seating area if you are feeling brave, and capacity for 42 heads indoors.
Under the guidance of Mary as Head Chef the restaurant has flourished and is now booked up night after night, with guests eager to sample the wonderful dishes on offer. Therefore it is important to book in advance, especially if the meal is for a special occasion.
Cillian, an old fisherman, has great connections with the local fishing community and is able to secure the freshest and best quality produce for his guests. All the other ingredients, including the meats are also sourced from local butchers. All the soups, breads, cakes and pies are made from scratch by hand in the kitchen. Lonely Planet has regularly praised the food at Murphy’s.
Opening Times
