At a glance
Pot Duggans is a historic pub, restaurant and events venue on New Road in Ennistymon, County Clare. Set in the town’s market-town surroundings, it combines food and drink with entertainment, private functions and wellness facilities in a characterful riverside setting.
The venue’s food offering includes restaurant dining and pizza available for collection from the dedicated hatch. This makes Pot Duggans suitable for a relaxed meal, a casual takeaway or a gathering centred on food and drinks. The pub setting adds a social feel, with space for visitors who want to meet for a drink as well as those attending an organised event.
Entertainment is an important part of the venue’s identity. Pot Duggans hosts games and social activities including quizzes, bingo, karaoke, interactive darts and board games. Gigs and other events also form part of the programme, giving the venue a livelier role than a conventional pub or restaurant. The mix suits informal gatherings, celebrations and groups looking for something to do alongside eating and drinking.
Pot Duggans also caters for private occasions. Two restored barns provide event space for weddings and other celebrations, while a covered outdoor area can support additional dining and functions. The venue promotes arrangements for social parties, work gatherings, hens and stags, and wedding-related events. Its combination of indoor rooms and covered outdoor space allows different types of occasion to be planned around the setting.
A sauna area adds another element to the venue. The facilities include a sauna with a river view, an outdoor shower and two cold-water barrels. The arrangement is designed around alternating heat and cold-water experiences, followed by time beside the river or a drink in the pub. It offers an unusual option for a social outing or a post-activity wind-down.
Pot Duggans suits diners seeking food and pizza, groups planning a celebration, wedding parties, and visitors interested in games, live entertainment or the sauna facilities. Its location on New Road makes it a practical base for combining a visit to Ennistymon with food, drinks and a scheduled event.
