Cliff's of Moher
Countyclare
Standing 214 metres above the Atlantic Ocean the Cliff's of Moher are a breath taking sight. Visit the Cliff's of Moher New Visitor Experience and take in the Atlantic Edge Exhibition and much more.
The Atlantic Edge is a new and exciting visitor interactive centre at the Cliffs of Moher. The centre is designed to give the visitor the ultimate feeling of being on The Edge and the underground cavern gives a totally realistic experience.
Learn all about the native birds, the ocean, the rock and all the elements that make up the expansive Cliffs.
Take some time to visit O'Brien's castle and the breathtaking views from there. You can see the lighthouse on Inis Oirr, the smallest of the Aran Islands, and as far as Galway on a clear day.
You can see a temporary exhibition of JP Holland's boat. The Inventor of the Submarine hailed from Liscannor the nearest village to the Cliffs of Moher.
On a clear day the view stretches as far as Conemara and takes in the Twelve Pins and the Maum Turk Mountains. The Cliffs reach out for 8km and attract over one million visitors every year. This is a Special Protected Area (SPA) and is home to Ireland's largest mainland seabird nesting colony with up to 30,000 breeding pairs.
Dolphins and seals can commonly be seen out to sea and a herd of wild goats roam the cliffs and can be seen quite close to the visitor centre.
Make sure to bring your camera as you won't want to miss the opportunity to snap the spectacular views.
