Dolphinwatch
Countyclare
See the unique 100 resident bottlenose dolphins living in the Shannon Estuary with Dolphinwatch, or take advantage of their seasonal whale watching tours.
Since 1992, Dolphinwatch have run tours from Carrigaholt in south Clare to see the area’s well-known mammals, as well as a range of other wildlife including seabirds, feral goats on Rehy Hill and sometimes even seals can be spotted. The tours are professionally and expertly guided and include the breath-taking coastline and dramatic cliffs, with a high rate of encountering dolphins.
The boat is large and spacious for passenger comfort and is specially designed for close-up viewing. Take the opportunity to listen to dolphin sounds with the hydrophone. See nesting seabirds, rare coastal animals, grey seals and more.
As you sit back and take in the beautiful scenery, historical points of interest will be pointed out throughout the trip.
Each trip goes for two hours. Group tours for schools are available.
